Hi, I’m Emily, owner and creator of Sweet Ginesta Floral & Design. I’m so glad you stopped by! Whether you want to work with me or just take a peek at my artistry, welcome.
I grew up in a small-town in Cache Valley, Utah. Throughout my childhood, I could almost always be found enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. My first experience with floral design came around twelve years old. The young women in my church made corsages for the mothers in our congregation each year for mother’s day as a fundraiser. I didn’t become serious about floral design until I was fifteen. I joined the local high school’s FFA Floriculture team then used that experience to land my first job in a floral shop in May 2013. I’ve had plenty of great mentors over the last eight years and made many wonderful friends.
People and society are interesting to me. This curiosity led me to study sociology and criminal justice in college. I wanted to help people, but quickly learned the medical aspect just wasn’t for me. I planned to earn a bachelors degree then go on to law school to become a criminal defense attorney. My husband and I began dating the fall of my junior year at Utah State University. Shortly after we got married in May 2017, I decided that I wanted to be a mom and further my floral career instead of pursuing law. I love that I can bring happiness to clients through beautiful floristry. I also love that I can share my passion of flowers with my children.
